How do you make farm bread?
Place a large handful of dry yeast in bottom of a large bowl. Add 2-3 cups of warm water, a handful of brown sugar, about a tablespoon of salt and stir. Add 1/4 cup melted margarine. Add enough flour* to make soft dough. Knead dough until dough is no longer sticky. Let dough rise until about double, punch down, knead with a little more flour and form into rolls for the muffin pan or put into a loaf pan.
*We use unbleached white flour that is donated to the program by Bob’s Red Mill.
