How do you make farm bread?


Place 2-3 cups warm water in a large bowl. Add a large handful of dry yeast and stir, then add a handful of brown sugar, about a tablespoon of salt and stir again. Add 1/4 cup melted butter.  Add enough flour* to make soft dough, about 5 or 6 cups. Knead dough until dough is no longer sticky. Let dough rise until about double, punch down, knead with a little more flour and form into rolls for the muffin pan or put into a loaf pan. Bake about 15 minutes at 375 to 400 degrees.

*We use unbleached white Artisan Bread flour that is donated to the program by Bob’s Red Mill.
