Aurora Colony Historical Society Annual Membership Meeting

The Aurora Colony Historical Society invites you to our Annual Membership Meeting. This event provides an opportunity to reflect on the past year, discuss our ongoing strategic initiatives, and hear from a special guest speaker.

This year’s program will feature Alexandria Nanneman, presenting Loving Labor: Community Craft as Secular Ceremony. Alexandria Nanneman holds a Masters in the History of Art and Architecture from the University of Oregon. She has taught Art History at Lane Community College, Pacific University, and PNCA. At PNCA, she teaches the History of Design Arts, Exploring Visual Culture, and World Art History. Nanneman’s family owns a 350-acre farm in Salem, where they grow fruit and seeds and where she works full-time in the summer.

Light refreshments and complimentary wine will be provided.

Your ticket will also get you in to the Aurora Colony Museum for the unveiling of the newest exhibit, Colony Craft following the annual meeting.

Following the meeting, attendees are invited to view the opening of our newest exhibit, "Colony Craft," which showcases basketry, weaving, quilting, furniture and tin work of the Aurora Colony.

Parking: At Aurora Mills Annex (through the gate between the Aurora Mills’ main building and the Annex. Look for the Blue ACHS signs. Limited street parking. Handicap parking in front of Annex. Overflow at the Old Aurora Colony Museum (a short 1 block walk away).
