Quilt Show is October 13 - 22, 2023 with Pre and Post Activities the week prior and following the show.

To sign up using the Volunteer Scheduling Calendar:

  1. Review the volunteer opportunities below.

  2. On the calendar, click “Book” on the volunteer opportunity you are interested in.

  3. The calendar will open to the first available date. Additional available dates will appear in black and you can click on them. Unavailable dates will be grayed out.

  4. Select the date you are interested in

  5. Fill out your contact information

Quilt Show Volunteer Opportunities

  • Pre-Show Setup (October 8-11, dates TBD)

  • Post Show Activities: Help take down the quilt show, reinstall our Best In Show mini exhibit that will run through January, help pack up the quilt shop and enter data from the show. (October 23-26, dates TBD)

  • Spinning wheel demonstrations during show.

Volunteer positions scheduled through the calendar or via email or phone:

Front Desk Assistant - Connect with visitors as they enter our museum! Volunteers here will be a warm introduction to our show, handing out programming, answering questions, and helping our staff with line-management as we get busy.

Raffle Ticket Sales - Sales! Volunteers here must be comfortable handling cash. Connect with visitors and explain the quilt and contest/show to visitors. Ensure that contact info is collected from raffle ticket holders. Quilting knowledge is helpful, but not required! Training will be provided.

Quilt Shop Sales - Manage the cash register in the Steinbach Cabin quilt shop. Our quilt shop included fabric notions, and other quilting related items for sale. Volunteer will be handling cash and running a Square system till. Training will be provided. Quilting knowledge helpful but not required.

Quilt Shop Sales Assistant - Connect with and assist visitor customers and the other shop attendant. Training will be provided.

Krause House Attendant - Connect with visitors and ensure the safety of our historic quilts on display.

Float - 11am-3pm Volunteers here will be assisting with breaks, lunch or comfort, for other volunteers and providing coverage where needed.

Photographer - Shutterbugs sought! Help document the show, capture our visitors enjoying themselves, the show and our activities. Photos may be used for future marketing purposes. No equipment needed other than a cellphone with the availability to connect and load photos onto the museum server.

Last Minute Substitute - Someone available if there is a last-minute cancellation.

Shifts are 9:45am - 1:15pm and 1:00pm - 4:15pm. Volunteers in the first shift will help open up the show in the morning, and the later shift will help close up for the day. We will be having quilting classes again this year, and may ask our floats to help with that.
