Presentations will be held at the Museum’s Will Family Preservation & Research Center within walking distance from the museum off of Main Street. Sessions may be attended independent of the Quilt Show.
Happy Star Mat
Saturday, October 10th, 10:30am - 1:00pm or 2pm - 4:30pm
Karen Stephens, Speckled Hen Quilts
The Happy Star Mat is a popular project for visitors to the Speckled Hen Quilt Shop. You may choose from 3 themes: Halloween, Chickens or Winter (Winter pic available soon). Karen will bring these on the day of the classes. Note, you will need to bring some supplies with you.

Kinusaiga Techniques & Kit
Tuesday, Oct 13th, 1pm - 4pm or 6pm - 9pm
Carrie Townsend, Pineapple Quilt Studio
Kinusaiga, meaning "silk color printing," is a Japanese art form that creates pictures by fitting fabric into grooves cut in a board, with no sewing required. In this 3-hour class, you'll learn the basics and complete an 8" x 8" project. All supplies and a take-home supply list are included. Beginners welcome!

Memory Quilts: How to Use T-SHirts in a Memory Quilt

Do you have t-shirts from events or places you have visited? Don't know what to do with them? Come learn from Carrie Townsend how to turn these into a memorable quilt! You may bring your shirts in (optional) or watch the work she does with hers. She will share the techniques she specializes in so you can turn your memories into a work of snuggly art!

Every Stitch a Story: Verbal Quilt Appraisals
Friday, Oct 16th, 11am - 1pm
Rachel Greco, Grandma’s Attic Sewing Emporium
Bring in your quilt and Grandma Rachel will look it over, giving you the information you need for long-term care and keeping of your quilt. This will be a verbal assessment only. If there is time available, Rachel will review a few of the historic quilts in the Museum’s holdings.

How to Combine and Sew with Fabrics Other Than Cotton

Diane Bowen, Cotton Patch Quilts
Using fabrics other than cotton in your quilting. Explore a bit of the properties of the fabric and how it affects the cotton in the quilt. Using fabrics –other than cotton quilting fabric- for making quilts. Diane wants to share the techniques you can use to keep these fabrics –whether fragile or friable- safe while utilizing them in your quilts.

Quick and Easy Table Runner
