Presentations will be held at the Museum’s Will Family Preservation & Research Center within walking distance from the museum off of Main Street. Sessions may be attended independent of the Quilt Show.
Kinusaiga Techniques & Kit
Tuesday, Oct. 13th, 1pm - 4pm or 6pm - 9pm
Carrie Townsend, Pineapple Quilt Studio
Kinusaiga, meaning "silk color printing," is a Japanese art form that creates pictures by fitting fabric into grooves cut in a board, with no sewing required. In this 3-hour class, you'll learn the basics and complete an 8" x 8" project. All supplies and a take-home supply list are included. Beginners welcome!
Class Fee: $45 (includes cost of kit)
How to Use T-SHirts in a Memory Quilt

Do you have t-shirts from events or places you have visited? Don't know what to do with them? Come learn from Carrie Townsend how to turn these into a memorable quilt! You may bring your shirts in (optional) or watch the work she does with hers. She will share the techniques she specializes in so you can turn your memories into a work of snuggly art!

Every Stitch a Story: Verbal Quilt Appraisals
Friday, Oct. 16th, 11am - 1pm
Rachel Greco, Grandma’s Attic Sewing Emporium
Bring in your quilt and Grandma Rachel will look it over, giving you the information you need for long-term care and keeping of your quilt. This will be a verbal assessment only. If there is time available, Rachel will review a few of the historic quilts in the Museum’s holdings.

Snowmen Ornaments From Cutter Quilts
Saturday, Oct. 17th, 10:30am - 12:00pm
Transform worn, historical textiles into a charming holiday keepsake in this hands-on workshop. All specialized materials, including the vintage quilt pieces, will be provided for your convenience. By the end of the session, you will leave with a beautifully crafted, one-of-a-kind snowman ornament ready to hang on your tree.

How to Combine and Sew with Fabrics Other Than Cotton
Saturday, Oct. 17th, 1pm - 3pm
Diane Bowden, The Cotton Patch
Explore how fabrics beyond standard quilting cotton can be safely incorporated into quilts. Diane will discuss how different materials behave alongside cotton and how their properties can affect the finished quilt. Diane will share the techniques you can use to keep these fabrics –whether fragile or friable- safe while utilizing them in your quilts.
